Revolt RV400 Review

Revolt RV 400 has a great look, which inspires the riders to shift from petrol bikes to electric bikes. And the head light with projector lamps with attractive DRLS makes me feel like a sporty bike and the tail lamp is also very attractive. Brightness of headlamps during night is quite impressive covering quite long distance.

Priced at One lakh thirty thousand, the wonderful electric machine as got brilliants specs. Upside down front forks and monoshock on rare wheel , and it has sculpted and muscular looks, with a sporty gait. The overall design isn't magnificent, but it's quite loveable. And it's not an entirely new design, with quite a bit of resemblance to the Chinese-made Super Soco TS1200R electric bike.

The bike has got 3000w Mid drive motor that powers the rare wheel through belt drive system. The motor generates 170 Nm torque that makes the bike to catch instant top speed of 85 KMPH.   There is a large aluminium cased Li ion battery of 3.24Kwh weighing 15kgs approx  concealed in bike tank. It is detachable one can be filled to 100 percent in 4.5 Hrs charge. And the battery is offered with a warranty of 8 years or 1,50,000 km, whichever is earlier.  The Revolt RV 400 has an ARAI-certified range of 156 km on a single charge, ridden at a constant 65 kmph

The instrument panel is full-digital, and the RV 400's claim to fame of being India's first artificial intelligence-enabled motorcycle is backed by a few unique features.

An embedded 4G LTE SIM enables all internet and cloud-connected features of the RV 400 and a dedicated Revolt mobile app offers a long list of unique features. Riders can access motorcycle diagnostics, satellite navigation, bike locator, geo-fencing, doorstep battery service.

Ergonomics are good, comfort factor is well prioritized by the makers. The bluetooth connectivity is an interesting element which grabs the attention of the youth. The throttle sound feature is awesome. The bike roars to the throttle twist like anything. Large sproket wheel, belt covers and perfectly positioned foot pegs are designed well in the chasis.

The RV 400 offers a choice of three riding modes - 1 (Eco), 2 (City) and 3 (Sport). In Eco mode, ridden at a constant speed of 65 kmph, the RV 400 will run on a single charge for 156 km. In City mode, range is expected to drop to 80-90 km, and Sport mode will depend on riding style and terrain.

Braking is decent, with discs on both wheels and the combi braking system works well. The Revolt RV 400 is a youngsters dream machine, but overall fit and finish, as well as build quality could have been better.

After sales service is poor, don't  expect too much. Spares availability still a problem. Motor stops working on applying brakes which is problematic. A slight throttle makes bike to move with a jerk. Build quality is average, need improvement in body panels. Seat is not much comfortable for long rides. Mud gourd doesn't protect much from mud splashes in monsoon. Battery charge diminishes fast during summer. No leg guard in bike poses risk to body panels when it falls.

While riding in hilly slopes, constant acceleration from quite far distance is required to climb. Not suitable for long rides only for local city commute.
