Ather Energy Launches Affordable Variant of Ather 450X Electric Scooter

Ather Energy, the Indian electric scooter manufacturer, has introduced a new base variant of its popular Ather 450X electric scooter. The new model comes at an affordable price point, making it more accessible to a wider range of customers.

The Ather 450X base model features the same electric motor and battery pack as the original model, offering a claimed range of 146km. However, some features such as fast charging, riding modes, and connected technology have been removed to reduce the cost of the vehicle.

The new variant is aimed at competing with other electric scooters such as the Ola S1 Air, TVS iQube, and Ampere Primus. It is expected to appeal to price-sensitive customers who are looking for an electric scooter that is both affordable and high-quality.

The launch of the new model has led to the discontinuation of the Ather 450 Plus model. The new variant is expected to replace the 450 Plus in the market and attract a wider customer base.

The base model of the Ather 450X is priced at Rs 98,079 (ex-showroom New Delhi, after FAME II and state subsidies). Customers can upgrade their scooters with more features and technology using the Pro Pack, which costs an additional Rs 30,364.

Ather is offering a 3-year/30,000km warranty on the base variant, while the Ather 450X equipped with the Pro Pack gets a 5-year/60,000km warranty for the battery pack. Both variants are backed up by a 3-year/30,000km warranty on the vehicle and the charger.

The Ather 450X electric scooter is available in six different colours, including True Red, Cosmic Black, Space Grey, Lunar Grey, Salt Green, and Still White.

The new variant is expected to appeal to a wider customer base and contribute to the growth of the electric scooter market in India. With its affordable price point and high-quality features, the Ather 450X is expected to compete strongly in the market and become a popular choice for customers looking for an electric scooter.
