Bajaj Auto has recently unveiled the highly anticipated 2023 Chetak Electric Scooter, available for purchase at a price of Rs 1.52 Lakh (ex-showroom) in India. This new EV has undergone numerous design and feature upgrades, while the current version will also remain available for purchase at a price of Rs 1.22 Lakh (ex-showroom). The difference in price, amounting to Rs. 30,000, can be easily justified by the increase in range, as well as other improvements. The company is also expanding its supply chain for the EV, ensuring easy availability across the country.
The Premium Edition of the Chetak electric two-wheeler has been introduced in three new colours - matte Caribbean blue, matte coarse grey, and satin black. It comes equipped with a new LCD display and various product features, such as two-tone seating, satin-black grab rails, body-colored rear view mirrors, and matching pillion footrest castings. The centre trim components, including the blinkers and headlight housing, have also undergone a facelift and are now available in charcoal black. These aesthetic changes have been made without affecting the battery or motor.
The 2023 Bajaj Chetak’s electric scooter is powered by a 2.88-kWh battery pack, allowing it to travel up to 108km on a single charge. According to the company, the actual range of the electric scooter can be achieved in 90 kilometers on one charge. With a power output of 4.2 kW and a peak torque output of 20 Nm, this scooter offers excellent performance and efficiency.
Since its inception, the Bajaj Chetak has sold 38,771 units till the end of January 2023, and the bookings for the 2023 version are now open. Deliveries are expected to begin around April, and customers can look forward to a state-of-the-art electric scooter that delivers on all fronts.
